Born in 2000, this Texas teen trio's growing catalog of original tunes mixed with cover songs entertains audiences of all ages. The Listening Room in Mobile is the band's third show of their 2016 Gulf Coast Tour, which started in New Orleans June 4th, followed by Biloxi the afternoon of June 5th.
Since announcing the tour in March 2016, the Rising Sons’ setlist has nearly doubled. Working under the musical direction of Waco guitarist and instructor Pat McKee, keyboardist Spencer Davis and guitarist Jackson Anderson have added vocals to the Rising Sons line-up. “What an honor for me to work with these boys,” said McKee. “That these teenagers have continued performing nearly every weekend while keeping up with my practices, school, homework and other activities is pretty amazing.”
“The Rising Sons are talented, and our customers always enjoy their music,” said Shane Turner, owner of the Waco Hippodrome. “If anyone who’s considering booking them has doubts, I will vouch for them 100 percent.”
In 2015, Turner hired the Rising Sons to play every Friday night at the Hippodrome. That residency led to many other Central Texas bookings including the Klassy Glass, Manny’s on the River, Ridgewood Country Club, Valley Mills Vineyard, the Creative Art Studio & Theatre and private parties.
The Gulf Coast tour was the brainchild of Rising Sons keyboardist Spencer Davis. “We’ve played to thousands of people in Central Texas, and I decided it was time to expand our reach and add more cities and states to our performance log,” said Davis.
With blues, jazz and southern rock the preferred genre for Gulf Coast music lovers, the Risings Sons are adding new songs to their set list weekly before they hit the road.
“This is our first tour, and we are very motivated to learn songs that new audiences want to hear,” said George Eichenberg, bass guitarist. “Jazz is complicated, but I say ‘bring it on’ every time we practice.”
“We love our fans in Waco, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to play for new audiences this summer,” said Jackson Anderson, Rising Sons guitarist.
“Months of practices and rehearsals is paying off,” said Davis. “We are ready for school to be out, so we can hit the road. The guys and I are thrilled to be able to play to new audiences in four states.” Influenced by their parents’ love of music, they play hits by the Eagles, Prince, Coldplay, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Jimmy Buffett, Maroon 5 and many more. Since 7th grade, they have played to thousands of Central Texans. Jackson Anderson plays acoustic and electric guitar, Spencer Davis is on keyboards and George Eichenberg plays bass guitar. This is the first tour for the teen trio.
